Contexta ships as two builds from one codebase.
The dividing line is simple: every feature that costs nothing to run is free, forever. Every feature that calls Claude is Pro.
Put another way — free diagnoses, Pro cures.
What is free
Everything deterministic. No API key, no AI call, no account, no time limit:

The free plugin makes no calls to our servers and no AI calls.
What Pro adds

How the two fit together
Contexta Pro is an add-on, not a replacement. You install it alongside the free plugin and both stay active. Nothing is deactivated for you, and nothing is left dangling in your plugins list.
The free plugin owns everything deterministic and all of your data ''' + em + ''' settings, imports, fix history, memory. Pro adds the Claude layer on top through the base plugin's own hooks.
The free plugin must be installed and active. WordPress 6.5 and later reads Pro's
Requires Plugins header and offers to install it for you. If it is missing, Pro says so and
stays inert rather than half-working.
Trying Pro, then going back
Deactivate the add-on. That is the whole procedure. The free plugin was never switched off, so nothing needs restoring and no data moves.
When a trial ends you do not even need to do that. Pro without a licence stops the AI writing and leaves everything else untouched, because everything else belongs to the free plugin:

Deleting the add-on removes only the add-on. It stores nothing of its own, so your settings, imports and history stay exactly where they are.
If a licence lapses or the server is unreachable
Nothing is deleted, and nothing breaks.
- Licence ends — the plugin returns to the free feature set. Your imports, fix history, memory and settings stay exactly where they are
- Licence server unreachable — a licence that verified recently keeps working for three days while the server cannot be reached, re-checking periodically. An outage on our side, or a firewall on yours, does not cost you the features you paid for
- Licence genuinely revoked — Pro features lock immediately

Install Pro alongside the free plugin and activate both. Nothing is replaced and nothing is switched off — the add-on simply adds its features to the plugin you already have.
